Through confirmation, those who have been baptized are strengthened by the Holy Spirit and called to make a stronger commitment to live as witness to Christ in their words and deeds. In the Rite of Confirmation, the bishop, who is the usual minister of the sacrament, anoints the head of the one to be confirmed with oil called sacred chrism, and says, “Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
At St. Mary, the Sacrament of Confirmation is administered in early spring to all eighth grade students in our School and PSR Program. Sacramental Sessions are held monthly beginning in the school year to prepare those making the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Adults participating in the R.C.I.A. program are confirmed on Holy Saturday and Sacramental Sessions are scheduled with our Priests, Deacons and Spiritual Team.
